Got this message. Not sure what it means, but I don’t think I’m that kinky.

So I hear that you have some laundry to do. As do I. I would love to drop a load or two. ;)

So here it is everyone, the Steve Martin monologue that was a tribute to Gilda Radner.  She had died that afternoon, the same day as the season finale.  While Steve is presenting the “Dancing in the Dark” sketch (from the Steve Martin/Blues Brothers episode) he’s trying to hold back tears.  This was just an unforgettable SNL moment that crushes your heart when you watch it.

So emotional. I love this show with all my heart. The people, the history, the production, everything. I am so honored to be even the smallest part of this production next semester.

Pro-Gay Marriage: Obama’s Flip Flop and the Power of Youth

It’s amazing how the innocence of a child has the ability to change the perspective of even the most partisan of political figures.

In an article I read, Barack Obama said that part of the reason for his change on his stance of gay marriage can be credited to his daughters. Their childhood innocence has not worn off just yet, and in their innocent youth, they are accepting and understanding of anyone, no matter their race, skin color, or sexual orientation. Obama said that he and Michelle will sit at the dinner table talking about family, friends, and the girls, and how the girls don’t understand how two people in a committed and loving relationship who raise a family should be and are treated differently than any other family, no matter if they are straight or gay. The perspective of two young girls really put Obama’s political views into perspective and allowed him to see and embrace the issue from the standpoint of two girls who represent future generations who will have a strong influence on this country.

It’s really so amazing to me the kind of power that children have in actually making a difference. I’m sure there will be many remarks in the coming hours and days about how this country’s leader is a socialist and his liberal politics are destroying the core of American values. But isn’t that what Americans said when we allowed blacks to marry whites? History always repeats itself, as many people say. History is repeating itself by trying to ban groups of people from marrying, but history will also repeat itself by overcoming this hatred and inequality by providing equal marriage rights to all people.

I’m excited to see how all of this will unfold in politics in the coming months and how it might affect the election. And I’m so excited for more drama in politics this coming fall because let’s be real, I might get the chance to meet the president if he makes a special guest appearance on Saturday Night Live while I’m an intern there. HOLLAAAAA

chills. i’m so proud to support him and help to see this become a reality

This almost brought a tear to my eye. You go, Obama. I am so proud of this country. What a great comeback after yesterday’s catastrophe in North Carolina.
